Before the Vidhan Sabha elections, there was a big upsurge in Tamil Nadu, Sasikala announced her retirement from politics.
Tamil Nadu Assembly Election 2021: A few days ago, Sasikala’s nephew TTV Dinakaran had said that Sasikala could contest the upcoming assembly elections.
VK Sasikala, an ally of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, has announced her retirement from politics. This decision of Sasikala came only a few days after he returned after serving a jail sentence. Please tell that the AIADMK had already shown Sasikala the way out of the party. A few days ago, Sasikala’s nephew TTV Dinakaran had said that Sasikala could contest the upcoming assembly elections.
Sasikala appealed to the AIADMK to defeat the DM after announcing his retirement, saying, “Our aim is to defeat our enemy DMK. I have never gone behind the power. I thank my and Amma’s supporters.”
Recently, on Jayalalithaa’s birthday, Sasikala appealed to all supporters to unite and help defeat the DMK in the upcoming assembly elections. Sasikala said that “Amma’s supporters should come together and fight for victory. Our goal in the coming elections is victory. Soon I will meet cadres and people.”
Recently released from jail
Sasikala returned a few days ago after serving a four-year jail sentence in a disproportionate assets case. A few days before the election, his return from jail had raised the political mercury of the state. It was rumored that BJP headed by Palaniswami and Panneerselvam is merging between Sasikala and AIADMK top officials. Sasikala said in her statement that she will remain loyal to Jayalalithaa’s feelings, just as she was to his “sister”.
Many AIADMK leaders, including KP Munusamy, made statements sympathetic to Sasikala, though they were apprehensive of Dinakaran’s move, which is becoming a problem for the ruling party.
The main opposition DMK, which has been out of power for almost ten years, is leaving no stone unturned to win the elections in April. The AIADMK, which wrested power from the DMK in 2011, won again in 2016 under the leadership of Jayalalithaa.
