Private OPD facilities for patients at the Sir Gangaram Hospital in the capital Delhi have once again been started from May 11. OPD facilities were closed hereafter the lockdown was announced, but now patients will be able to come to the doctor for consultation for four hours a day.
OPD facility has been started in Sir Gangaram Hospital from 10 AM to 4 PM. To meet the doctor, patients will have to visit the website of the hospital and take an appointment. Apart from this, it will be mandatory for patients to have the Arogya Setu App in their phones and their thermal screening will also be done before meeting the doctor.
This entire process will be done outside the OPD ward of the hospital where different tents have been installed. Places have been appointed in each tent. The area of different branches has been fixed from the board, where patients coming to consult the doctor of the same branch will be seated.
Only one doctor for each branch
Dr. DS Rana, Chairman of Gangaram Hospital’s Board of Management, said that at this stage only one doctor from each branch has been allowed to visit the patient. All doctors have been given different rooms. He told that the hospital has a system of central air conditioning so that the risk of infection remains high. In view of this, AC has been closed in rooms, and the exhaust has been installed in every room. This will keep fresh air coming in the room and also avoid the risk of infection.
‘Get patient online consultation with the doctor’
Dr. Rana said that the whole process is done by Gangaram Hospital is like a ‘mock drill’. Lockdown 3.0 is about to end and people will have to adopt other ways of living amidst this epidemic in the coming times. In the coming time, the hospital will advise its patients to take maximum online consultation, but all the patients including the doctors of the hospital, security staff will also have to learn new rules of this new round. For which the hospital has taken this first step.
He said that gradually the number of patients will be increased day by day. Free OPD facilities will be provided once again, for which the OPD is being prepared by the hospital right now.

Before the lockdown at Sir Gangaram Hospital, 2000 people used to come for OPD treatment on any ordinary day. Of these, 25 percent of the patients were free OPD, but now the free OPD consultation has been closed for the time being. Currently, only private OPDs have been opened.
